BRUNY ISLAND FOR THE GOURMET TRAVELLER

Bruny Island has built a solid reputation as a gourmet food destination.
I have compiled a dossier of locally grown and produced products and preserves designed to hit the taste buds in just the right spot.

A Taste of Bruny offers a range of mouthwatering organic products that will fit neatly into any picnic basket. From quince jellies & pastes, to eat with local cheeses, to locally grown olives. Their extensive range of exotic chutneys & barbecue sauces with a twist, think blueberry barbecue, are available on the island and from their website.

Bruny Island Cheese Co. has been featured on the SBS television show Gourmet Farmer. The cheese co. hosts a cafe and cheesery with free cheese tastings daily.

Get Shucked Oysters at Great Bay Bruny Island hosts an impressive sit down oyster bar and an
oyster drive-thru for those who like their oysters on the run

For those who fancy a quality drop of wine or whiskey, Bruny Island will not disappoint.

Bruny Island Premium Wines hosts a quality bar and grill set amongst the vines deep in the vineyard.
The food is fresh, local and is paired brilliantly with local wines. The winery is open 11am to 5pm, seven days a week for wine tastings and meals.

Bruny Island House of Whiskey is a tasting paradise for the whiskey lover and is said to boast the largest range of Tasmanian whiskeys available anywhere.

Bruny Island is also in good supply of fresh local seafoods which are available at various eateries including Hotel Bruny and Bruny Island Premium Wines Bar and Grill.
The Adventure Bay General store also stocks local seafood in their fridge and freezer section, for those who want to cook their own on the barbecue. The general store also stocks an extensive range of Taste of Bruny products including olives, preserves and sauces.
